Virtual Build It Forward Jubilee

Event Details

Join us for a powerful and inspiring virtual event that will raise funds to build and repair homes for families and individuals in our community. Featuring Midland County Habitat for Humanity Board Chair Tim Johnson, and Midland County Habitat for Humanity President/ CEO Jennifer Chappel and hosted by Jay Aarons.

The Jubilee will feature the story of a family that was stuck in a pattern of living in a rental unit that was income based. No matter how much they worked to improve their earnings, they could not get ahead as their rent would increase, forcing them to stay in their apartment. And we will hear from Andy Wilkins, who grew up in a Midland County Habitat for Humanity home and how that impacted his family’s life.

After a year of crisis and a devastating flood and dam failure, the Jubilee will bring us together to reflect on the power that a community of neighbors can have in improving our lives and building brighter futures. You’ll have the opportunity to support the building and repairing of 10 multifamily homes and 6 single-family homes and in addition support the repairs of 125 owner-occupied structures. Our Build It Forward Jubilee and campaign helps more families in Midland County achieve their dreams of homeownership and revitalizes city neighborhoods. Midland County Habitat for Humanity is building our first multi-family homeownership project with development beginning in September of 2021. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and learning more about how you can support safe, affordable housing in Midland County.

Our mission at Habitat is to work alongside our community to address and combat housing issues at a local and global level. We aim to dismantle barriers that may prevent people living on low incomes from purchasing a home of their own. We do this by working together with our community of supporters, partners and friends, and holding events such as this to influence real change and create homes that will remain affordable for decades. Thanks to your support, homebuyers can have stability under their feet and are empowered with an affordable place to call home for generations.

Pre-register to attend the Jubilee, then watch live on September 23rd and be entered to win a Coleman Portable grill donated by Dow Credit Employees Credit Union. Winner will be randomly drawn from guests that pre-registered and attended during the live virtual presentation. Winner will be announced after the presentation at 7pm.
