Expanding Our Impact

What builds a community? Kindness. Goodwill. Hope. Everyone needs help sometimes – and everyone deserves to have a safe and affordable place to call home.

To grow our impact and help revitalize area neighborhoods, we are expanding our mission to construct new multifamily housing in addition to single-family homes. Your contributions to our Build It Forward capital campaign will help us grow affordable housing options for hardworking families in the Midland area – helping to transform lives and strengthen our community. Safe, affordable and stable housing builds thriving neighborhoods and strong communities.

An Investment in Hope

For more than 30 years, Midland County Habitat for Humanity has been transforming lives in our community. And we aren’t stopping. In fact, we’re enriching our housing portfolio.

Throughout the next three to five years, our mission is to build 10 multifamily homes and 6 single-family homes in addition to repairing 125 owner-occupied homes. Our Build It Forward campaign helps more families in Midland County achieve their dreams of home ownership and revitalizes city neighborhoods.

A Housing Shortage – Right Here at Home

In 2018, urban planning group czb conducted a housing analysis in Midland County. The results revealed a real need for more affordable housing options for low-income households.

Serving More People, Housing More Hope

Multifamily housing allows us to serve more people per square foot of land – supporting our vision of building a community where everyone has a decent place to live.

Multifamily Homes Construction Update

20211202_090449

In the spring of 2020 we began lot preparation of our multifamily homes and started construction in October of 2021. We are building two condo style units, for a total of 4 homes on Isabella Road in the city of Midland. The homes will be part of a home owner’s association (HOA).

Trusses were delivered and installed in late December, and the house is currently being “dryed in”, meaning the outside of the home construction is being completed.  Once the windows are installed, the volunteers will move to working on interior construction and will complete the outside construction in the spring.
