The New Value of Volunteer Time is $29.95

Volunteers make our communities safer and our society is more equitable due to volunteers.
.
.
Recently the Do Good Institute at the University of Maryland released data saying the value of a volunteer hour has increased to a national average of $29.95 per hour.  This is a 4.9% increase from 2020 to 2021. Habitat for Humanity cannot accomplish our mission without volunteers wanting to make a difference in their community. It is important to realize how much value, more so than their hour wage, volunteers contribute.
.
.
Through volunteer mobilization, efficient management and tax-deductible donations of money and building materials, Habitat for Humanity builds affordable, decent homes with the help of the homeowner (partner) families.
.
.
In a traditional year more than 2 million people around the world will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Our volunteers always make a positive difference in the communities we serve. Their volunteerism is greater than the hourly value, volunteering their time builds community and provides a family a safe, decent, affordable home.
.
.
Midland County Habitat for Humanity appreciates all of our volunteers. We cannot accomplish what we do without the dedication, compassion and support of the community and volunteers. We would like to say thank you to everyone that has volunteered with us. We know that volunteers are critical to our mission of eliminating poverty housing in Midland County, and making decent, affordable shelter for all people a matter of conscience. We are extremely grateful for all the volunteers who have volunteered with us since 1988.
